Thimphu Festival

7 Days 6 Nights

The Thimphu Tshechu is one of Bhutan’s most vibrant and spiritually significant festivals, held annually at the grand courtyard of Tashichho Dzong.

Celebrated over three days, this sacred festival honors Guru Rinpoche, the saint who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan. The Tshechu is a blend of religion, culture, and social gathering, where locals dressed in traditional attire (gho and kira) gather to witness sacred masked dances known as Cham.

These dances are not just performances—they are believed to cleanse sins, bring blessings, and protect against misfortune. The festival also offers travelers a rare opportunity to experience Bhutanese culture at its most authentic and colorful.
